Featured Presenters and Organizations

Margie Dillenburg
(from the Invisible Children website) Having graduated from Notre Dame in 2001 with a degree in Peace Studies and Computers, we can officially say Margie is one of the most well rounded people on the face of this planet. Heading up Invisible’s Movement Department, she’s the voice of reason in a room of chaotic creativity. Margie moved to California after college to help start a school that targeted an underserved portion of the population. Over a span of four years, two of which she served as an Americorp volunteer, she watched the idea grow from a business plan to a fully-functional school. After her stint as a teacher, she migrated to Invisible’s office where she now spends her days transforming chaos into order. Margie is passionate about riding bikes, using creativity to make things (especially clay), being outside, learning, reading, one-on-one conversations, cooking, traveling and not using the word passionate.

Charles Lee -- Just4One.org
Charles is a founder and vice-president of JustOne, a non-profit that addresses issues of poverty, orphans, and modern-day slavery. He also serves as lead cultural catalyst and pastor for New Hope South Bay Church in Torrance, and teaches at Life Pacific College.

Sean Carasso -- Tom's Shoes; Falling Whistles
Sean Carasso loves adventures. After co-founding two youth camps, he traveled extensively with John Paul DeJoria, while working alongside organizations such as Young Life, Invisible Children and Toms Shoes. He is currently writing a book, Falling Whistles, documenting his 2-month investigation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which brought him into rebel army bases, illegal prisons for children, and ultimately the signing of the International Peace Treaty.

Will Boyd and James Pearson
Ask Will Boyd to describe his life in one sentence and he'll tell you he only needs four words: "My life is stupid." And it is – in a good way. Most people aim to land one dream job; Will has had a bunch of them. He studied at the world's finest film school (for free), he's been a creative director for MTV, he's been a dolphin trainer in the tropics, he's traveled the US as spokesman for Invisible Children… you get the picture.

James Pearson, on the other hand, builds dream jobs for others. His business education and travels to places like Nepal, Thailand, Uganda and Ethiopia have given him an eye for opportunity, and he's using it to put globalization to work for those who need it most. Projects that he helped develop in Uganda, including his latest endeavor Acholi Beads, now employ over 200 war-affected people and improve thousands of lives, with many more to come in Uganda and around the world.

Earlier this year Will and James began to dream together, and magic ensued. With the mantra "Creative Action" they are helping to build a faithful community in San Diego that is inspiring creativity and combating injustice in America and around the world.

[the Option]
To engage the masses by providing creative outlets to share in telling the stories of North Korean refugees along with bringing them to safety through underground networks across eastern Asia.

Landon Taylor -- Volunteer in Missions
Landon never thinks twice about sharing the way God has changed his life through service. “I had the opportunity to serve for two and a half months this past summer in the Bahamas. I can truly tell you that I experienced several life changing experiences while serving. I believe the most important thing we can give is our lives. I have been transformed in the love of God.” He brings a creative mind and a deep spirituality to the office. Landon is an inspiration to us all and is a great asset to the UMVIM staff.
